One distinctive feature of the project is the abundance of greenery and trees surrounding the villa. Upon entering the property, visitors are immediately greeted by two towering magnolia trees that frame the house. Our approach was to enhance the beautiful garden views, treating them as living paintings and sources of inspiration. The original layout of the ground floor was reconfigured to maximize the views of the garden from multiple angles.
Situated near Rome’s third-largest park, Villa Pamphili—a historic residence named after the noble Roman family who once lived there—we sought to create a unique balance between the spacious, open ground floor and the more intimate bedrooms and bathrooms on the second floor. The material palette reflects earthy, vibrant tones, from rich dark oak to sandy travertine.
The rigorous lines of the wooden partitions concealing the staircase are echoed in the design of the staircase balustrade, following the principles of Japanese aesthetics, which emphasize minimalism and functionality.
